I am very much one to apply a Long Now view to things. I think such connection to antiquity only stresses humanity&#039;s long evolution over the centuries.

Likewise, such genetic analysis helps people connect with distant groups, showing that in reality, we only recently increased in numbers, that in the past, the small human population meant than many of us originate from similar groups in recent history.

(Hm, makes me think. Have you guys talk about how rapid humanity expanded from a small genetic base, and how that affects our diversity? I remember Eric Lander saying something about that a while back.)</description>
